Sirius grinned, moving a little closer to Remus' face. This was getting more and more natural by the minute. "It can be whatever you want it to be. Of course, I was implying that it was a date," he said loftily, winking at Remus before moving away from him again. Maybe Remus really didn't want to be anything more than friends, but Sirius did, and he wouldn't just sit around and do nothing about it. Besides, Remus looked very cute when he blushed.

Cheeks that had finally started to fade brightened to an intense red. Remus was not expecting that reaction at all. With Sirius’ face this near to his own, he found himself wanting to close those few inches between their lips. Therefore, he did, without even really thinking about it. Fortunate thing that he wasn’t thinking or he wouldn’t have done it.

Sirius' eyes widened as he felt Remus' soft lips on his own, but he soon forgot about his shock and decided it felt really bloody nice, and there really was no reason to stop the kiss. He leant into the kiss, bringing his free hand (he was still holding Remus' hand with the other) up behind Remus head and bringing him as close as possible to him. He deepend the kiss, grazing Remus' lips with his tongue, waiting for him to give him permission to continue.

When he felt Sirius’ tongue against his lips, he pulled away. Too much, too fast. He was breathing rapidly and blushing, the idea of moving past simple lip to lip contact frightening him. He buried his face in Sirius’ chest, trying to stop freaking out. He wasn’t sure how to deal with what they were doing. It made him happy, but Sirius was known for going through girls rapidly. He didn’t want to be just like them. He wanted to be something special. That meant he wasn’t going to let it move too fast. It would both serve to protect himself from what he was afraid of, and keep Sirius attached if he was interested. If he wasn’t as interested as Remus hoped, he’d end it without there being too much damage before it went too far.

Sirius was quite put out when Remus pulled away, but then pleasantly surprised when Remus burried his head in his chest. He lifted his hand and stroked Remus' hair down, ignoring the looks they were receiving from passers by. Most of them probably thought Remus was a girl anyway: His hair was extraordinarily long.
"Remus, I'm sorry," Sirius said softly. He wasn't exactly sure what he'd done, but he was sure it had something to do with the fact that Remus had never really been involved with anyone.

Remus smiled to himself with Sirius’ reaction. If Sirius cared enough to apologize, then he definitely had a chance. He looked up shyly at Sirius, though his eyes dropped from Sirius’ almost immediately.
“It’s ok. I’m just…nervous,” he murmured. He wrapped his arms around Sirius, and leaned against his chest again.

Sirius nodded, still stroking Remus' hair. "It's okay. We'll go slow...just tell me whenever something's too much. We know each other really well, so I don't see how I couldn't trust you to tell me what you want to do," he said reassuringly. Yes, it would be strange to take things slowly, since his relationships with girls generally lasted a maximum of three weeks, but maybe Remus was worth it.

“Thank you,” he almost whispered. He straightened, keeping his grip on Sirius’ hand as he set off for Flourish & Blotts again. He squeezed Sirius’ hand lightly, though he loosened his grip almost immediately. He was glad he looked so feminine. Passerbies would mistake him for a girl if they didn’t look too closely. He was also glad for his loose robes. They hid the fact that even almost-innocent touches were becoming a turn-on for the werewolf. He wasn’t used to it, so it was to be expected.

Sirius grinned at Remus, glad that he had kept hold of his hand. Maybe that meant he hadn’t done anything too wrong. They continued along the road until they arrived at Flourish & Blotts, where Sirius briefly let go of Remus’ hand and opened the door for him. “Come on then, let’s get the boring shopping over with,” he said, giving a loud mock sigh, the hint of a smile still playing on his lips.

Remus giggled at Sirius’ comment about books, and corrected him. “Books are fun! Not boring.” He knew his geekiness was showing through, but apparently Sirius liked the geeky, delicate, innocent Remus the way he was, so there was no more improvements to be made. He was glad, since letting his grades slip wouldn’t be fun.

"Of course they are. But if you hurry up and buy these *fun* books, I'll show you something even more fun," Sirius whispered suggestively in Remus’ ear before gliding away from him too look at the more interesting books located at the back of the store. He ran his finger over the numerous titles of the varies books he knew continued rather a lot of interesting hexes he could use on Snape before realizing that he had no money to buy them and that James probably already owned them. He looked up from the books and turned his head, scanning the shop for Remus. After a few seconds he spotted him and walked over to him.
“Hurry up…” he whined, looking at Remus with his best puppy dog eyes. “I’m boooored…” He pouted, resting his head on Remus’ shoulder.

Remus was blushing again when Sirius whispered in his ear. He hurried to get his school books from the shelves as Sirius walked away. He hoped the blush would fade soon, because he was starting to think his face was permanently stained red. When he had almost finished, Sirius returned. He glanced at the head on his shoulder, and blinked a couple of times.
“I can’t get more books with you there…” he said softly, then added, “not that I really mind. I’m almost done, though.”

Sirius brightened up at this, lifting his head from Remus’ shoulder and straightening up. That had been quite uncomfortable, especially since Remus was almost a foot shorter than him. He grabbed the books out of Remus’ hands before he could protest and sprinted up to the cashier desk, plonking the books down. “Here you go! He’s got the money,” Sirius said in his usual, slightly hurried and hyper, voice, grinning manically and pointing behind him to Remus. He did like him…a lot…but he didn’t half take his time in that stupid bookshop.
He proceeded to lean against the desk and ruffle his thick hair with one hand, being sure to make it look as attractive as possible. He could feel the cashier staring at him, and any other day he would have made an attempt to chat her up, but now he had Remus, and there was no way anything was going to mess with his best friend’s happiness.

Remus followed Sirius as quickly as he could without running. By the time he arrived at the cashier desk, he was breathing slightly heavily. He looked suspiciously at Sirius and the cashier. When he had determined that Sirius was not flirting, he handed over the money, and took his books. A few steps from the cashier desk, he leaned over and kissed Sirius’ cheek.
“You can carry my books for me.”

Sirius looked at Remus in slight awe before taking the books from him and opening the door for him. “Yes, love,” he said, grinning, and taking Remus’ hand in his free hand. “And now we need to go to Gringotts, to get my money so I can rent a room and you can stay there,” he said with a grin, kissing him on the cheek softly. They continued to walk hand-in-hand to the bank, where Sirius again opened the door for Remus.
He walked up to the desk, Remus still in toe, and said to the goblin: “I’d like to make a withdrawal from account number 4563. 50 Galleons should do it. The key’s here,” he said, temporarily letting go of Remus’ hand to unlatch a small golden key from a chain around his neck. He handed the key to the goblin, then took hold of Remus’ hand again. “We’ll wait here, if it’s all the same.” He waited until the goblin had left, then turned to Remus. “So, good day or what?”
